The Personal Care Team Lead is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operations of the personal care program in accordance with local, state, and federal standards and regulations. This role involves managing personal care staff, handling office duties, and being responsible for marketing and growth of the assigned area. The Team Lead interprets and communicates policies, monitors staff practices, participates in admission decisions and in-person admissions, and manages visits with nurse assessments, recertifications, authorizations, billing, payroll tasks, and Medicaid eligibility verification. They also participate in weekly management team meetings, schedule and prepare monthly employee staff meetings for continuing education and team building, evaluate work performance, and ensure compassionate quality care and supervision of aides for optimal client satisfaction. The role includes overseeing schedules, communicating changes, participating in recruitment, hiring, and termination, conducting new hire orientation, and performing in-service education. The Team Lead promotes teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communication, and may provide direct aide care as necessary, treating all clients with dignity and respect. They must take on aide responsibilities during staffing shortages and maintain a professional appearance.
