Join Ohio's Hospice as a Personal Care Specialist and help patients remain comfortable, supported, and treated with dignity throughout their hospice journey. This is more than a personal care position. You'll build meaningful relationships with patients and families while working alongside nurses and other members of an experienced hospice care team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Ohio driver's license and safe driving record
- Current automobile insurance meeting state minimum requirements
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to travel throughout the service area
- Reliable transportation and a valid Ohio driver's license required
- Must be comfortable driving in varying weather and road conditions
Nice To Haves
- Active Ohio STNA/CNA certification in good standing
- At least 1 year of healthcare or patient care experience
- Hospice and Palliative Nursing Assistant (CHPNA) certification
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on care that helps patients feel comfortable, safe, and respected in their own environment.
- Help patients with personal care and daily activities while promoting dignity, comfort, and independence.
- Support family members with education and assistance related to daily care needs.
- Observe patients and communicate changes in condition to the clinical team.
- Work closely with nurses and other hospice professionals to provide individualized care.
- Document care accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Build trusting relationships with patients, families, and coworkers.
