About The Position

Merakey is seeking a full-time Personal Care Assistant to join our Adult Behavioral Health program in Harrisburg, PA. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents in an 8-bed Personal Care Home (PCH). The Personal Care Assistant supports residents’ mental health and physical well-being through direct care and supervision, carrying out daily care responsibilities while actively participating in and following individualized treatment plans for residents diagnosed with mental health disorders.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• An active, valid driver's license is required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Help develop and implement activities and other special projects designed to strengthen independent and community living skills and socialization/leisure time.
• Build on strengths to promote positive growth for the consumer.
• Engage consumers in appropriate life skills to develop abilities to live as independently as possible.
• Accompany consumers on trips outside the home for treatment, medical appointments, or activities.
• Provide transportation using a company vehicle as necessary.
