About The Position

Make a difference every day by joining CCRES as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in Kennett Consolidated School District (KCSD). The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) position is a field employee position providing one-to-one and small group emotional support and behavioral interventions to children/adolescents in a school setting throughout Chester County, PA. We specialize in serving children primarily diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders as well as other special needs diagnoses. PCA assignments available throughout Chester County, PA area school districts, including Kennett Consolidated School District (KCSD). PCAs will work on all student days, full day, during the school calendar year. General school hours approximately: 7:15am - 2:45pm (secondary) or 8:15am - 3:45pm (elementary). Requirements

  • High School Diploma OR equivalency
  • PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance (within 12 months)
  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance (within 12 months)
  • PA Department of Education FBI – Use code 1KG6XN (within 12 months)
  • TB Screening (within 3 months)
  • Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
  • Staff on assignment for West Chester Area School District must have a high school diploma and ability to complete a local assessment requirement OR Two-years of post secondary education (48 college credits)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored one-on-one and small group support to students with disabilities, helping them participate in classroom activities, manage behavioral interventions, manage personal care, and access to educational environment as it aligns with the student's Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).
  • Implement timely interventions focusing on behavior management, conflict resolution, anger management, and enhancing peer interaction skills, according to the goals outlined in the IEP or positive behavioral support plan set by Special Education team.
  • Gather daily data and maintain progress notes in the designated format for each session with the child or adolescent.
  • Offer direct assistance to students to fulfill their academic, social, emotional, and/or personal care requirements.
