About The Position

Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and service-focused Personal Care Assistant to join our assisted living team at Hillcrest Mable Rose in Papillion, NE. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will provide quality personal care and daily living support based on each resident’s individual needs and Resident Service Agreement.

Requirements

• Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
• Must be able to independently lift up to 35 pounds.
• Must be able to perform repetitive sitting, bending, standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and movement as needed.
• Must be able to safely assist residents with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Must be flexible and calm when working with residents or families during stressful or emotional situations.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to utilize electronic documentation systems, technology, and available resources efficiently and effectively.
• Possible exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
• Other duties as assigned.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant, caregiver, CNA, Nurse Tech, or similar direct-care role preferred.
• Experience working with aging adults in assisted living, memory support, senior living, long-term care, or a similar setting preferred.
• A compassionate and respectful approach to personal care.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with residents, families, nurses, and team members.
• Ability to recognize and promptly communicate changes in a resident’s condition or behavior.
• Strong attention to detail with vital signs, documentation, and resident-service plans.
• Ability to encourage independence while providing appropriate support.
• Dependability and consistent follow-through.
• Strong organization and the ability to manage multiple resident needs.
• A calm, flexible, and professional approach in stressful or changing situations.
• Comfort using electronic documentation systems and other healthcare technology.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience providing personal care to aging adults in assisted living, memory support, senior living, or a similar setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, and other personal-care needs.
• Support residents with adaptive devices such as hearing aids, glasses, and dentures.
• Monitor residents and communicate health concerns or changes to the appropriate nurse or clinical leader.
• Obtain and document vital signs as ordered, including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respirations, and weight.
• Promptly report vital signs that fall outside established parameters to the Nurse Manager or Director of Health Services.
• Assist residents to and from meals and help ensure residents are accounted for during dining.
• Provide meal and dining support based on individual resident needs.
• Understand when and how to access emergency medical services when needed.
• Assist with laundering resident clothing and linens.
• Communicate resident concerns and needs to nurses and incoming or outgoing team members to support continuity of care.
• Complete required documentation accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Help maintain clean, comfortable, and organized resident living areas.
• Assist with general cleaning responsibilities such as removing trash, making beds, organizing, and vacuuming as needed.
• Support scheduled resident activities and encourage participation based on individual interests and abilities.
• Build positive relationships with residents and families through compassionate, respectful, and dependable care.
• Assist with additional resident-care and community needs as assigned.
