About The Position

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) provides essential support and personal care services to clients in their homes to maintain comfort, safety, and independence. The PCA works under the direction and supervision of the Designated Coordinator (DC) and follows the client’s individual Home Plan of Care as established by the interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Must be at least sixteen (18) years old.
  • Must complete the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) PCA training and receive certification prior to working with clients.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background study and fingerprinting as required by DHS.
  • Maintain current TB screening and remain in good physical and mental health. (if applicable)
  • PCAs must report allergies (such as to pets or smoke) to ensure safe client placement.
  • PCAs are not responsible for pet care and may not mix chemicals unless clearly labeled.
