PCA - Assisted Living Personal Care Assistant
About The Position
As a Personal Care Assistant for Grace Management Service’s facility, you will be responsible for performing essential job functions to ensure resident well-being and satisfaction. This includes following established performance standards, identifying and reporting resident issues, assisting residents with mobility and daily living activities, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. You will also be expected to document resident conditions, communicate with supervisors and families, and assist with various facility tasks. The role requires the ability to work both indoors and outdoors and to adapt to changing weather conditions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- Ability to pass Nurse Aide Certification class
- Ability to read computer screens
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must be able to lift 50 to 75 pounds.
- Must be able to balance, climb, crouch, grasp, kneel, pull, push, reach, stand and stoop adequately to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Must be able to hear, smell, feel and speak adequately to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Must be able to read and write the English language.
Responsibilities
- Follow established performance standards and perform duties according to Sprenger Health Care policies and procedures.
- Identify special resident problems and report them immediately to your supervisor.
- Assist residents when getting out of and getting into chairs or wheelchairs.
- Assist with passing water pitchers and trays in the dining room.
- Remind residents of all meal times and assist to the dining room as needed.
- Assist with keeping rooms neat.
- Give individual attention when time allows, such as taking residents for walks, conducting small group activities, or providing one-on-one visits.
- Document as required.
- Report changes in residents’ conditions to supervisor or nurse assigned.
- Listen to resident and family complaints and report information to supervisor.
- Assist with stocking of laundry and linens on halls.
- Perform other related duties as directed by the Administrator or the Director of Nursing.
