About The Position

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) position is a field employee position providing one-to-one and small group academic support and behavioral interventions to students in a school setting within William Penn School District. CCRES specializes in serving children primarily diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders as well as other special needs diagnoses. PCAs will work on all student days, full day, during the school calendar year. General school hours are approximately 7:30am - 2:30pm (secondary) or 8:30am - 3:30pm (elementary). Requirements

  • High School Diploma OR equivalency
  • PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance (within 12 months)
  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance (within 12 months)
  • PA Department of Education FBI Clearance (within 12 months)
  • TB Screening (within 3 months)
  • Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts

Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored one-on-one and small group support to students with disabilities, helping them participate in classroom activities, manage behavioral interventions, manage personal care, and access to educational environment as it aligns with the student's Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).
  • Implement timely interventions focusing on behavior management, conflict resolution, anger management, and enhancing peer interaction skills, according to the goals outlined in the IEP or positive behavioral support plan set by Special Education team.
  • Gather daily data and maintain progress notes in the designated format for each session with the child or adolescent.
  • Offer direct assistance to students to fulfill their academic, social, emotional, and/or personal care requirements.
