About The Position
Right at Home is seeking compassionate and dependable Personal Care Assistants for part-time positions in Covina, California, serving Pasadena, Covina, and surrounding areas. This role offers flexible scheduling with shifts ranging from 4 to 6 hours, up to 24 hours per week, making it ideal for students, parents, retirees, or those seeking supplemental income. The position involves providing in-home support to help clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent. Immediate openings are available, with weekly orientation and paid training.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current TB test (within the last 90 days)
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance
- Ability to pass a background check
Nice To Haves
- Active California Home Care Aide (HCA) registration preferred
- CNA, Home Health Aide (HHA), or Personal Care Aide (PCA) certification is a plus, but not required
- Bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese is a plus, but not required
Responsibilities
- Assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Providing mobility and transfer assistance
- Offering medication reminders
- Preparing meals and snacks
- Performing light housekeeping and laundry
- Providing transportation to errands and medical appointments
- Offering companionship and meaningful social engagement
- Supporting clients with dementia and memory care needs
- Assisting with prescribed range-of-motion exercises
