About The Position

Merakey is seeking a full-time Personal Care Assistant to join their Adult Behavioral Health program in Harrisburg, PA. This role provides for the safety and welfare of consumers in a personal care home setting, supporting their mental and physical well-being. The Personal Care Assistant will carry out direct care responsibilities while participating in and following the treatment planning process. This role will float between two personal care homes located in Harrisburg and Steelton.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED OR an active CNA certification in Pennsylvania
• Active and unrestricted driver's license required
• Must be at least 21 years of age

Responsibilities

• Help develop and implement activities and other special projects designed to strengthen independent and community living skills and socialization/leisure time.
• Build on strengths to promote positive growth for the consumer.
• Engage consumers in appropriate life skills to develop abilities to live as independently as possible.
• Accompany consumers on trips outside the facilities for treatment, medical appointments, or any other appropriate activities.
