About The Position
Easterseals of Southeastern Pennsylvania is a leading nonprofit provider of disability services, primarily serving children from birth to 8 years with a variety of physical and developmental disabilities including autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and spina bifida. Their services encompass Approved Private School, special classrooms, summer programs, assistive technology, early intervention programs, and various outpatient speech, physical, and occupational therapy programs. The organization is dedicated to providing exceptional services to ensure all people with disabilities and their families have equal opportunities to live, learn, work, and play in their communities. This full-time Personal Care Assistant/Teaching Assistant role is crucial for supporting the behavior and educational services provided to students in their school setting, particularly young children with severe and complex disabilities, and will contribute to the expansion of Positive Behavior Supports within Easterseals.
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher in a related field and/or current RBT certification
- Reliable transportation is required for possible travel to additional school sites
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with children with disabilities and/or challenging behavior
- CPR/First aid certification
Responsibilities
- Implement strategies as outlined in Positive Behavior Support Plans
- Provide direct instruction based on the student's IEP goals
- Serve one student at a time or support a classroom teacher in an assistant role
