About The Position

Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused Personal Care Assistant - Medication Aide to join our Memory Care team at Hillcrest Grand Lodge in Papillion, NE. As a Personal Care Assistant - Medication Aide in Memory Care, you will support that mission by providing hands-on care, meaningful engagement, daily support, and a calm, respectful presence for residents.

Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must be able to independently lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive sitting, bending, standing, walking, and movement as needed.
  • Must be flexible, calm, and professional in stressful or changing situations.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to utilize technology and care resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Completion of 40-hour Medication Aide coursework required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with older adults and providing personal care services in Assisted Living, Memory Care, Dementia care, senior living, or a similar setting preferred.
  • Previous Assisted Living, Memory Care, Dementia care, senior living, or personal care experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality personal care and living services based on each resident’s choices, needs, and service agreement.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living based on individual needs, preferences, and care plans.
  • Support residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, mobility, toileting, and other personal care needs.
  • Provide medication assistance following the five rights and accurately document medication support, as credentialed.
  • Take vital signs as ordered and report out-of-range results to the Nurse Manager or Director of Health Services.
  • Complete monthly summaries, weights, vitals, and assessments timely and accurately.
  • Assist residents to the dining room for meals and help serve, encourage, and support residents during mealtimes.
  • Engage residents in daily activities, scheduled programming, and meaningful moments outside of scheduled activities.
  • Observe residents for changes in condition, behavior, needs, or concerns and communicate promptly with the nurse and care team.
  • Complete documentation in the electronic medical record, including DAR notes by exception.
  • Wash, put away, and complete assigned resident laundry, including incontinent laundry as needed.
  • Monitor resident supplies and notify family as needed.
  • Support a clean, safe, calm, and comfortable Memory Care environment.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, nurses, PCAs, and team members.
