About The Position

The Personal Care Assistant primarily observes patients and assists them with personal care. The role may include serving as a sitter for assigned patients during a specific shift, assisting with toileting and other basic personal care, and reporting safety hazards. The aide also participates in team conferences, in-service education programs, and staff meetings, and performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Successfully complete all State, Federal, ARH, or accreditation-mandated training programs as they become available.
• Complete two weeks to one month of on-the-job training to attain proficiency in assigned duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Observe assigned patients and serve as a sitter during a specific shift.
• Assist with basic personal care services as appropriate and assigned.
• Assist assigned patients with toileting.
• Observe and report safety hazards, and prepare incident reports.
• Participate in team conferences, in-service education programs, and staff meetings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
