About The Position

Active Homecare is hiring experienced Homemakers and Personal Care Assistants to support clients in their homes. Personal Care Aides provide, restore, maintain, and promote clients’ health through home support, medical monitoring, transportation, and assistance with activities of daily living. The role helps clients remain safely at home and may help avoid unnecessary hospitalization. Assignments are matched to the employee’s geographic location, with flexible schedules and multiple shifts available, including full-time, part-time, and per-diem. The position requires a positive, dependable, supportive approach and a commitment to clients’ safety, health, and happiness.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 18 years of age for positions that do not require driving for clients.
At least 21 years of age for positions requiring driving or running errands for clients.
For positions involving client driving, a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of vehicle registration and insurance are required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Ability to bend, pull, push, squat, turn, transfer, and lift 50 pounds, and to stand for extended periods while providing physical assistance to members.
Successful background check and, where applicable, satisfaction of additional state-specific regulatory requirements.

Nice To Haves

Current Home Health Aid and/or C.N.A. certification preferred.
At least one year of full-time-equivalent experience in a health care setting preferred.
Prior experience working with seniors and/or adults with special needs preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist members with activities of daily living and personal care, including arrival and departure, eating, ambulation, transfers, therapies, and restroom assistance.
Provide home support and help maintain a healthy environment through light cleaning, laundry, shopping, and home-safety tasks.
Prepare and serve meals and snacks, clear tables, and assist with feeding as needed.
Observe members for changes in condition or unusual occurrences and escalate concerns appropriately.
Run errands as needed, including shopping for food or personal items and meeting or accompanying clients to appointments.
Monitor activities and maintain a sanitary, clutter-free environment to ensure members’ safety.
Communicate positively, courteously, and professionally with members, their families, coworkers, referral agencies, and the community.
Comply with company policies and procedures, and applicable safety and regulatory laws and standards.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
