About The Position

Guardian Angel Senior Services is seeking a Personal Care Aid (PCA) who is a 5-Star Caregiver to provide light housekeeping and personal care services to the elderly and disabled in the comfort of their own homes. This role involves traveling from home to home to serve senior clients. The position requires candidates to be responsible and reliable from day one. The PCA will assist clients with activities of daily living, boosting their spirit and significantly improving their quality of life, delivering quality and safe home health care services, including personal care and homemaking.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • Access to internet
  • Must have valid Driver's license
  • Must have reliable on hand Vehicle
  • Ability to write, read, and speak English fluently
  • Tech-savvy (Navigate digital app)
  • Dependable: Arrives on time, ready to work. Maintains an unblemished attendance record. Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to fill vacant shifts when needed.
  • Thorough: Attentively follows designated care-plans, taking care to understand client needs in order to address them. Updates Care Plans to reflect changes in client care and informs Management of same.
  • Observant: Aware of a client's unique personal and medical history so as to recognize changes, whether behavioral, physical, social, or psychological as they pertain to a client's overall health and well-being.
  • Clear & Concise: Communicates professionally, tactfully, and with discretion in verbal exchanges with the client, and family members. Records all activities and observations factually in the visit notes.
  • Follow-Through: Communicates with Management, ensuring that all issues, updates, changes, and concerns are reported to the office in a timely fashion.

Responsibilities

  • Provide light housekeeping and personal care services to the elderly and disabled in their homes.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including toileting, bathing, showering, dressing, grooming, and assisting with personal hygiene.
  • Perform homemaker duties such as light housekeeping, running errands, providing transportation, preparing meals, shopping, menu planning, laundry, and general household tasks.
  • Attend agency orientation, in-service education programs, and staff meetings as required.
  • Practice safety and competency within the job description.
  • Communicate with the agency about problems and concerns.
  • Comply with State/Federal regulatory acts and agency policies.
  • Communicate with office staff regarding all scheduling of HM services to clients.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Respect and maintain client confidentiality at all times.
  • Report concerns of client abuse or neglect.
  • Wear personal protective equipment in accordance with training procedures.
  • Document in Communication Book.
  • Supervise and Assist in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
  • Assist with transferring (bed/chair), walking, and preventing falls.
  • Provide social interaction, engaging in activities, and offering emotional support.
