The Personal Banker is responsible for providing exceptional customer service in accordance with Valley's mission statement. This role requires the ability to engage customers with friendly and professional service, possess knowledge of all Bank products and services, and educate customers on these offerings while cross-selling various products and services. The Personal Banker must present a confident and professional demeanor to establish trust and gain knowledge from the customer, analyze needs, and recommend appropriate products and services. This position involves meeting with customers to analyze financial needs, maximize sales opportunities, offer all bank products, assist with other service needs, open new accounts (checking, savings, certificate of deposit, and IRAs), discuss/sell loan products, and promote/demonstrate online and mobile banking abilities. The Personal Banker is responsible for meeting customer expectations and achieving service quality standards, participating in the sales referral process, and assisting management in coaching and mentoring branch staff. Additionally, the role involves performing all necessary customer transactions using appropriate technology, maintaining and balancing a cash box, utilizing technology such as Teller Scanning Equipment, Cash Recycling and Cash Dispensing machines, and supporting customers with Coin Machines. The Personal Banker also acts as Vault Teller, ensuring branch cash adequacy, ordering/shipping currency and coin, and controlling/distributing cash to Tellers within prescribed limits. This role also includes assisting in community events and supporting CRA initiatives. The Personal Banker must report significant matters to the Manager and maintain knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements, as well as the Bank's Code of Conduct and all policies and procedures.
