About The Position

The Personal Banker will create and deliver a memorable customer experience while conducting banking and providing financial product solutions. You must have a positive attitude, be a team player, and be able to uncover client banking and financial needs and refer them to the appropriate bank product or representative. Additionally, you must be able to thrive in a diverse workplace, handle customer service requests and complaints, maintain the security of customer information, conduct proactive outreach and follow-up with our customers, and manage your assigned cash drawer responsibly.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least one year of relevant work experience preferred; prior banking experience is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to process information and transactions with high levels of accuracy.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to recognize and be sensitive to the different perspectives and priorities of different customers.
  • Shares, shows, and supports clients on a variety of technological digital and online tools and resources, allowing them to explore solutions to achieve their financial goals and well-being.
  • Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize processes, tools, and techniques for detecting, addressing, and preventing fraudulent situations.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
  • Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, or process problems; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

Responsibilities

  • Create a personalized client experience rooted in trust, strong relationship building, and proactive customer service.
  • Guide clients through multiple financial transactions, educate them on available options, and identify meaningful sales opportunities.
  • Connect clients with the right banking resources to improve financial well-being and encourage long-term loyalty.
  • Identify opportunities through meaningful conversations with clients, make appropriate referrals to branch staff or other partners and meet sales goals.
  • Perform lobby engagement activities to connect with clients and position First Bank products to meet their needs.
  • Educate clients on options for managing financial transactions by leveraging technology, tools, and resources.
  • Apply product and procedural knowledge to address client requests and provide solutions.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures, demonstrate sound judgment within established limits, and ensure teller and branch daily operations and maintenance transactions are completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
