The Personal Banker is responsible for delivering an exceptional client experience by adhering to the bank’s Breakthrough Client Experience Standards. They will acquire new and expand existing relationships with clients by asking questions to identify needs, offering appropriate products and services, and referring the client to the appropriate business partners within the Bank when needed. Also responsible for uncovering and originating consumer lending and some small business lending opportunities. Provide excellent client service by providing immediate acknowledgement, identifying and offering appropriate products and services, and responding to inquiries in a timely manner. Engage clients and prospects in client financial review(s) and business financial reviews to provide solutions and uncover additional financial needs. Makes recommendations and follows through on commitments to clients. Maintains direct contact with external and internal clients and consistently provides proactive solutions and problem resolutions in alignment with the bank’s Breakthrough Client Service Standards. Opens Consumer and Business accounts for existing and new clients. Originates Consumer loans independently and accurately. Originates business loans independently or with minimal assistance Acts as a resource to the Client Service Specialists by contributing to the team environment and filling in on teller functions (including cash transactions) when needed. Supports the branch goal of identifying and referring a wide range of bank products and services to the appropriate internal business partners. Demonstrates proficiency with basic business, consumer, and trust entities Beginning to mentor other team members about products, services, and business partners May back up the Assistant Manager with operational duties and tasks Stays current on products and procedures. Resolves client issues and requests, exhibiting strong follow through. Other responsibilities as assigned Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes. Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training. Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description. May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert. Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Columbia corporate culture in all actions and words.
