About The Position

The Personal Banker is responsible for interacting with customers in a courteous, professional, and friendly manner to identify their needs. This role provides and helps develop the products needed for the customer or cross-sells to the appropriate areas of the Bank to identify solutions for those needs. Responsibilities include opening and closing all types of deposit accounts, interviewing consumer loan applicants, processing and maintaining branch consumer loan files, and managing IRA distributions, sales, and reporting. The Personal Banker will also establish a call program, coordinate events and campaigns to generate business, mentor retail staff, process debit card requests, connect customers to Online Banking and other Retail Technological Products, and initiate wire transfers. Participation in branch events is also a key aspect of the role.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or the equivalent
  • 5 - 7+ years of banking, lending and/or retail cashier experience.
  • Proven track record of managing larger lending authority.
  • Strong communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Interact with customers in a courteous, professional, and friendly manner to identify their needs.
  • Provides and helps develop the products needed for the customer or cross-sells to the appropriate areas of the Bank to identify solutions for those needs.
  • Opens and closes all types of deposit accounts including checking, savings, certificates of deposits, and IRA's.
  • Interview consumer loan applicants for credit and obtain financial information and obtain appropriate information to make loan decisions. Process and maintain branch consumer loan files.
  • Responsible for IRA distributions, sales, and reporting.
  • Establish a call program and coordinate events and campaigns to generate business and provide excellent relational communication with current customers.
  • Mentor retail staff.
  • Process debit card requests and assist customers as needed.
  • Connect customers to Online Banking and other Retail Technological Products and assist with related banking issues.
  • Initiate wire transfers.
  • Participate in branch events by working the event and engaging with customers.
  • Attend to reception area in the absence of attendant.
  • Support the teller line by processing transactions as needed.
  • Provide assistance if needed for accounts payable, loan maintenance, account monitoring, and other areas if needed.
  • Participate in Retail meetings.
  • Adhere to compliance procedures and participate in required training.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
