About The Position

The position is responsible for all Teller and Senior Teller accountability, including assisting on the teller line and greeting members in the lobby. The role involves opening new accounts with an emphasis on activating services that benefit the member's financial success, processing specialty account opening requests like trust accounts, and maintaining in-depth knowledge of all non-equity loan options. The Personal Banker I is also responsible for processing and funding loan applications, establishing and maintaining positive consumer member relationships, and expediting the resolution of member problems and complaints. A key aspect of the role is educating members on money management behaviors such as managing credit and budgeting to help reduce financial stress and achieve financial goals. Additionally, the position provides notary services, completes assigned audits, and continuously improves through feedback application. The role requires achieving individual sales goals and contributing to branch success by actively listening to member concerns, addressing needs, and emphasizing product features that solve problems or meet future needs. This includes having effective conversations about additional loan protection products, developing interpersonal skills to build rapport quickly with a wide variety of people, and displaying confidence while communicating with members. Consultative sales techniques are used to proactively offer products and services that are in the member's best interest, including consultative analysis of credit profiles and account history. The role also involves completing service calls and outbound call efforts, understanding offerings, and providing referrals to business partners. Other job-related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and one (1) year experience in a financial institution, or six (6) months experience with Arizona Financial.
  • Must register as an MLO.
  • Knowledge of PC software applications in Windows and Word.
  • Ability to type 45 words per minute.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and use proper grammar in English.
  • Ability to read interpret and analyze written instructions, correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write simple business correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate verbally both in person and on the telephone.
  • Ability to speak effectively to members regarding sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to speak effectively presenting information to groups of members.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding when dealing with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Must register as an MLO.
  • In compliance with the federal Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing (S.A.F.E.) Act of 2008, Arizona Financial employees acting as Mortgage Loan Originators (MLO) must be registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS or Registry) and obtain a unique identifier (NMLS Number).
  • MLOs routinely handle confidential member information and have strict requirements for maintaining the confidentiality and non-disclosure of that information.

  • Understands the offerings and provide referrals to business partners, including Elavon, Arizona Group, and Member’s Auto Center.
