About The Position

The Financial Service Representative (FSR) is based in a branch and works within established guidelines to perform sales and service activities. This role provides prompt, professional, and accurate information to members and potential members, focusing on opening new accounts, securing loans, and cross-selling Credit Union products and services to meet member needs and increase satisfaction. The FSR is responsible for maintaining quality service standards while meeting or exceeding monthly assigned sales goals.

Requirements

  • Proven sales and service results.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Knowledgeable in new accounts and lending policies and procedures.
  • Solid knowledge of sales and referral techniques.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers.
  • Two to three years of financial institution experience in New Accounts, Sales, and Consumer Loan origination.

Responsibilities

  • Develop member relationships by providing high-quality sales and service.
  • Identify member financial needs and assist them in selecting appropriate financial products and services.
  • Provide an exceptional service experience consistent with Credit Union standards.
  • Resolve member complaints quickly and accurately.
  • Respond to member inquiries via phone, in person, mail, or email.
  • Provide timely closing of loans through consistent follow-up of loan approvals.
  • Develop, expand, and retain member relationships to increase member satisfaction.
  • Adhere to CCU's Member Experience Playbook, SLAs, and Corporate initiatives.
  • Follow the retail branch's escalation process.
  • Explain account types, products, or services to members.
  • Assist members in establishing electronic services such as online banking, mobile banking, mobile deposits, direct deposit, and bill pay.
  • Interview members to determine appropriate product/account/service.
  • Comply with all positive identification regulations for establishing new account holders.
  • Analyze existing account relationships to identify potential services and/or account sales opportunities.
  • Generate outbound telemarketing calls to identify member needs and promote appropriate credit union products and services.
  • Utilize sales skills to source for new account relationships.
  • Generate and close identified sales opportunities with new and existing members, including the solicitation of loans, new accounts, and other credit union products and services.
  • Develop and maintain a follow-up program for expanding multiple account relationships.
  • Open basic Business accounts, Fiduciary, Trust Accounts, IRAs, and HSAs, completing all required tasks.
  • Recommend appropriate products and services to members for consumer loans.
  • Conduct interviews with members relating to loan requests.
  • Cross-sell consumer loan protection products and services.
  • Review documentation and forward to Consumer Lending for review and approval on loans not system-approved.
  • Communicate loan disposition (approved, counter-offer, denied) to members.
  • Create loan documents and obtain member signature(s).
  • Disburse new loans and complete follow-up tasks.
  • Discuss and refer Business Loans.
  • Complete tasks and responsibilities relating to enhancing member relationships to increase member service.
  • Develop existing and new member relationships through business development, on-sites, and community and networking events.
  • Attend onsite events.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Credit Union policies and procedures.
  • Participate in all assigned staff development programs.
  • Report to work on time, as scheduled.
  • Complete all BAI trainings and classroom courses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
