About The Position

The Personal Banker Associate I is intended to become a Retail Personal Banker I after completing a 4–8 week onboarding and education program, including rotations in operations and Sales & Service and a certification demonstrating the skills needed for a role in the Retail Personal Banker job family. This Financial Center position uses a consultative sales process to identify and meet customers’ and prospects’ financial needs. The role focuses on acquiring new households and deepening existing customer relationships through activities such as lobby leadership or aisle time and tele-consulting. It also processes teller transactions and works as a member of the platform staff.

The position is accountable for managing risk, following policies and procedures, protecting confidential information, and supporting a positive customer experience. It requires completing training within the affiliate and travel outside the affiliate for classroom training. The position is located in Boca Raton, Florida.

Requirements

• College degree, work experience providing transferable skills, or a combination of education and experience.
• Ability to develop comfort with sales activities to acquire new consumer household and small business customers and cross-sell to established customers.
• Ability to demonstrate understanding of advanced math functions used to analyze credit and financial information.
• Ability to professionally represent Fifth Third Bank through appearance and verbal and written communication.
• Ability to develop working knowledge of Retail policies and procedures and use good judgment in making sound decisions.
• S.A.F.E. Act registration through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) is required at the time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify current and future financial needs.
• Maintain knowledge of Retail consumer and small business products and services and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Use CAMP and other approved marketing tools to contact customers and schedule periodic financial reviews.
• Cross-sell to existing customers and participate in outside sales activities as directed, including onsite presentations, business sales calls, and community financial literacy events.
• Build working relationships with Business Partners in Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial, and Investment, and refer customers when appropriate.
• Meet or exceed customer experience and individual and team production goals, contributing to year-over-year revenue growth as measured by Financial Center P&L.
• Guide CSRs on sales and referrals.
• Promote customer satisfaction through friendly, helpful, professional service; answer customer questions and take ownership of customer issues.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and related policies.
• Follow established policies and procedures when opening and servicing Retail products.
• Participate in consumer loan and bankcard processes, owning sourced loans from application through closing.
• Participate in Financial Center or Bank Mart opening and closing processes as directed.
• Stay current on Retail procedures for preventing fraud and unnecessary risk or exposure.
• Process teller transactions and work as a member of the platform staff.
