About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and highly organized Personal Assistant to support an independent elderly couple in their home. This role requires patience, empathy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide practical day-to-day assistance while helping maintain a calm, positive, and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, trustworthy, emotionally mature, and comfortable working closely with older adults and their care team.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a personal assistant, experience working with the elderly preferred.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional patience, compassion, and emotional intelligence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with someone who has significant hearing impairment.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Comfortable using computers, smartphones, email, and online scheduling tools.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus but not required.
  • Is calm, patient, and reassuring during stressful situations.
  • Treats older adults with dignity, kindness, and respect.
  • Can anticipate needs without being intrusive.
  • Is dependable, discreet, and trustworthy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day personal assistance and companionship.
  • Assist with organizing daily schedules, appointments, and reminders.
  • Assist with correspondence, phone calls, paperwork, and bill organization.
  • Help coordinate communication with healthcare providers, family members, and service providers.
  • Support household organization, including managing supplies and light administrative tasks.
  • Encourage participation in enjoyable activities and social engagement.
  • Provide reassurance and emotional support to help reduce anxiety.
  • Communicate clearly and patiently with an individual who has profound hearing loss.
  • Observe changes in mood, behavior, or well-being and communicate concerns appropriately.
  • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and respect for the clients' dignity and independence.
