The Personal Advisor is a key role in the Member Hub, acting as first point of contact for member calls and is an example of service excellence and powerful first impressions. The Personal Advisor provides a superior member experience by proactively solving member inquiries, promoting Beem Credit Union’s products and services and collaborating to support the branch network and other departments in maintaining and growing the member portfolio while building lasting and meaningful relationships. This position requires ability to travel between our Member Hubs in Burnaby and Langley, BC, with reliable transportation. The successful candidate must be flexible with a rotating schedule, including Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday, and early morning and evening shifts.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary business degree or diploma, or a combination of education and experience
  • 2-3 years’ related experience
  • Back to Basics – Lending Program
  • Financial Planning 1 or equivalent is recommended
  • CUIC 210: Consumer & Residential Mortgage Lending is preferred
  • Equivalent combination of the above may be appropriate

Responsibilities

  • Provides non-cash related account services to members and processes routine banking transactions.
  • Analyzes member needs, provides individualized financial advice and recommends appropriate Beem Credit Union products and services and alternatives, including cross-selling and referrals to specialists.
  • Conducts interviews with members to identify lending needs and make recommendations. Gathers information related to loan applications including conducting credit checks.
  • Sells, prepares and ensures accurate processing of deposit and investment products and services including Term Deposits, RRSPs, RRIF’s, RESPs and related transactions.
  • Proactively participates in seasonal and ongoing marketing product campaigns.
  • Maintains records of financial information, produces financial reports and maintains financial systems to provide accurate, timely and relevant information for the most effective decision making.
  • Reviews computer generated reports such as overdraft, new accounts and term maturities to identify variances and necessary action.
  • Performs regular and proactive outbound calls for mortgage and deposit product renewals as well as marketing campaigns to increase member retention and wallet share.
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to consolidate business from other financial institutions and strengthen financial relationships with Beem Credit Union.
  • Proactively identifies and recommends process improvements for better efficiencies.
  • Collaborates with specialist departments by referring members for additional services.
