About The Position

The Person In Charge (PIC) is the primary contact for customers, providing friendly, courteous, and helpful service. When the Store Manager and First & Second Assistant Managers are absent, the PIC assumes responsibility for the store, making necessary decisions to ensure maximum profit, efficiency, and superior customer service. The PIC supervises store employees, typically during evening shifts, and also functions as a Cashier-Checker. This role may involve working in various store departments.

Requirements

• Ability to follow company customer service procedures.
• Demonstrated prior customer service skills or related experience.
• Ability to interact with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Knowledge of all positions within the store.
• Ability to work independently.

• Prior experience as a clerk or manager.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service in accordance with company policy.
• Handle emergencies, customer complaints, and employee or customer accidents.
• Supervise all store personnel when management is absent.
• Maintain a high level of familiarity with company policies and procedures.
• Supervise the sales floor to monitor service and product replenishment.
• Replace stock in displays surrounding the checkout area.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Assist other cashiers with computer, register, and scanner problems.
• Perform basic office functions to assist customers and personnel.
• Operate an electronically scanning cash register to total customer bills.
• Receive payment and count back correct change.
• Bag groceries.
• Offer and perform carry-out assistance if a Courtesy Clerk is unavailable.
• May complete close of day functions in the office.
• May count out-of-stock product.
• May count tills when other cashier-checkers leave.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
