About The Position

The Person in Charge (PIC) position is a secondary work assignment that requires application and selection. The schedule will flex between the current role and the PIC role. When not scheduled as a PIC, all PIC responsibilities will default to the store management team, and the individual will resume the responsibilities of their current role. PIC duties include opening and closing routines, execution of bank deposits, receipt of shipment, and interpreting/disseminating company directives when assigned as manager on duty. This role assists in the operation of a profitable store by controlling expenses, ensuring basic inventory is stocked, practicing good personnel skills, consistently applying policies and procedures, maintaining store condition, recognizing and solving problems, controlling liabilities, protecting company assets, and maintaining high employee morale and customer satisfaction. A wage of an additional $2.00 per hour is provided while scheduled as a PIC.

Requirements

  • Current Area Coordinator, CSM, or Department Manager at this location.
  • Must apply and be selected for the role.

Responsibilities

  • Achieving and maintaining a level of satisfaction and friendliness that exceeds that found in competing retail.
  • Performing leadership tasks as delegated by store managers.
  • Acting as the manager on duty to address customer service, personnel, or maintenance issues.
  • Overseeing the continued training, evaluation, and communication with employees.
  • Ensuring the in-stock position and presentation of all basic and promotional merchandise according to company standards.
  • Taking action to reduce internal and external theft and waste.
  • Ensuring adherence to and accuracy of cash handling, check acceptance, and accounting systems.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Taking action to control all sources of potential liability.
  • Taking action to improve sales objectives.
  • Enforcing company policy and ensuring a safe work environment, free of harassment or unlawful discrimination.
  • Overseeing employees unloading trucks, pricing merchandise, stocking shelves, or cashiering.
  • Providing leadership-by-example to employees in all areas of store operation and in personal conduct when scheduled.
