About The Position

Infinity Natural Resources is seeking a Permitting Specialist to own surface permitting across its Appalachian Basin operations. The specialist independently prepares and submits permit applications, works directly with regulatory agencies to keep projects on track, and serves as the permitting lead for assigned operational projects. The role partners with engineering, surface operations, regulatory, and environmental teams to ensure application packages are complete and accurate and move through the process efficiently.

The position may be based in the Morgantown, West Virginia, or Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, office, with periodic travel of up to 20% to field sites and agency offices across the company’s Ohio and Pennsylvania operations.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in oil and gas permitting, operations, regulatory compliance, or related experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of oil and gas surface permitting processes and applicable operational regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret plats, engineering drawings, and technical documents.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to resolve permitting challenges with minimal supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepare and submit permit applications for a variety of oil and gas operational activities.
• Coordinate directly with regulatory agencies to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and ensure timely permit approval.
• Review and interpret applicable regulations to ensure compliance across applications.
• Maintain accurate permit logs, track approval timelines, and communicate status updates to the operations team.
• Collaborate with engineering, surface operations, regulatory, and environmental staff to ensure application packages are complete and accurate.
• Participate in pre-application meetings with agencies to streamline the permitting process.
• Research and resolve moderately complex permitting issues and regulatory inquiries.
• Ensure timely renewal, amendment, or closure of permits as required.
• Provide training and guidance to junior permitting staff on procedures and best practices.
• Serve as the permitting lead for assigned operational projects and report status to asset development leadership.
