About The Position

This role is responsible for ordering all permits for oversize/over height shipments. The Permitter will maintain a construction restriction map, prepare routing for trips considering width and height, and order state and county permits. The position also involves monitoring annual permits for drivers, handling driver inquiries about routing, preparing permit changes, and packing trip envelopes with necessary documents.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Ability to apply common sense, understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Spreadsheet Software, and be able to use online tools.

Responsibilities

  • Keeps up a construction restriction map daily.
  • Prepares the routing for all trips keeping width and height in mind.
  • Orders all state and county permits, some done online, some faxed to permit service or county offices.
  • Monitors all annual permits issued to the drivers and sometimes ordering a new one if needed.
  • Handles phone calls from drivers about routing issues.
  • Prepares permit changes when needed because of trucks going down or house not measuring what factory reports.
  • Packs trip envelopes with the permits needed plus trip sheets.
