About The Position

Under close supervision, performs a variety of complex administrative duties associated with Building Division permits; and performs related duties as assigned. Position involves sedentary to light work in an office setting. There is frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, sit, lift light objects (up to 10 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday. The City of Lake Worth Beach promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • one (1) year of administrative or clerical experience including customer service experience
  • FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) Certification Levels 100, 200, 700 and 800 within the first six months of employment
  • Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of City licenses and permits.
  • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures.
  • Skill in using standard office machinery and equipment.
  • Skill in using computers and standard application software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Nice To Haves

  • Certain positions may be required to attain additional ICS training as needed.
