The Permanency Supervisor is responsible for supervising a unit of caseworkers and clerical staff, performing complex consultative services, technical assistance, and supervisory work. This role involves planning, developing, and implementing an agency program in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. The supervisor must daily assess and make decisions regarding child safety and permanency, ensuring documentation is thorough and concise. Key duties include ensuring safety plans are individualized and linked to immediate child safety, and service plans are tailored to treatment services that enhance protective capacities. The position requires routine interaction with clients, judges, attorneys, children, school personnel, and community members. The role involves working with parents, guardians, conservators, and youth with behavioral problems, potentially including physical aggression. A personal vehicle is required for travel, and sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics is essential. The supervisor will access confidential information including youth files, foster care and adoption records, and foster parent information, and must maintain confidentiality according to policies.
