About The Position

Plummer Youth Promise is seeking an experienced Permanency Mediation Training Specialist/Supervisor to provide leadership, supervision, and training for their network of subcontracted mediators. This role is ideal for someone with a strong child welfare background who is passionate about coaching professionals, improving practice, and ensuring high-quality mediation services. This is a part-time position averaging 20 hours per week, offering flexibility while providing meaningful opportunities to improve outcomes for youth and families across Massachusetts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of mediation experience (Required)
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, teaching, and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel locally throughout Massachusetts for court appearances, trainings, meetings, and mediation services.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent coaching, mentoring, and team-building abilities.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and timeliness.
  • Sound judgment, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Experience with child welfare practice, legal proceedings, and mediation strategies.
  • A collaborative approach to problem solving and conflict resolution.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a related field (Preferred).
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in child welfare (Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing supervision and support to subcontracted mediators throughout your assigned region.
  • Review court referrals and determine program suitability.
  • Assign mediation cases equitably while considering case complexity and mediator expertise.
  • Conduct regular supervision meetings to support mediator growth, skill development, and quality practice.
  • Ensure compliance with program policies, contractual requirements, and best practices.
  • Complete case-related administrative responsibilities and maintain accurate program data.
  • Assist with the development, coordination, and delivery of Permanency Mediation trainings and continuing education opportunities.
  • Provide direct permanency mediation services as needed.
  • Coordinate advisory meetings to identify and address system barriers.
  • Participate actively in program meetings and collaborative initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties that support the success of the Permanency Mediation Program.
