About The Position

This is a part-time, permanent role for a Peripatetic (Mobile Cook / Catering Assistant) on the Fylde Coast. The role involves working 16.25 hours per week, term time only, with variable hours. As a Mobile Cook / Catering Assistant, you will join a school kitchen team, helping to prepare and serve healthy, balanced meals and create a positive lunchtime experience for pupils. Lancashire County Council's School Catering Service provides over 60,000 meals daily across more than 500 schools.

Requirements

• Reliable, dependable and ready to contribute.
• Works well as part of a team.
• Can remain calm and work efficiently during busy periods.
• Can use their own initiative when needed.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Previous catering and food-preparation experience, which is essential for this role.
• Holds a valid UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Setting up the dining area, including moving and arranging furniture.
• Assisting with the preparation and cooking of food.
• Serving meals and drinks to pupils.
• Clearing the dining area and putting furniture away after service.
• Cleaning equipment, kitchen areas and dining areas.
• Helping the team serve meals safely and efficiently.
