About The Position

A lead Perioperative Tech is responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of anesthesia delivery and equipment in a healthcare setting. This role involves coordinating Perioperative Technicians, ensuring that all equipment is maintained and functioning properly and collaborating with anesthesiologists, CRNA’s and nursing staff to optimize patient care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification.
• One year of experience in the Perioperative Technician role
• A strong technical background in anesthesia equipment, surgical procedures, sterile technique and principles of aseptic technique, medical terminology, and commitment to patient safety.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills, and excellent customer services skills.
• Frequent standing, walking.
• Occasional bending stooping, twisting.
• Ability to hear speech, speak, use near-far vision and fine motor skills.
• Ability to perform continuously detailed tasks with frequent interruptions and work prioritization.

Responsibilities

• Leading a team of Perioperative Technicians, providing training and guidance.
• Ensuring all anesthesia machines and monitoring devices are calibrated, maintained and safe for use.
• Implementing protocols to adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Working closely with the anesthesiologists and surgical teams to ensure efficient workflow in the operating room.
• Ability to coordinate with other departments for placement of anesthesia services.
• Addressing any technical issues that arise during procedures.
• Ability to trouble shoot problems and providing immediate solutions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
