About The Position

Highland Hospital, a 261-bed community teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Rochester Medical Center, is recruiting for a Perioperative Support Tech to join their team. The Operating Room offers a fast-paced, exciting, and collaborative work environment. This role is part of a team that utilizes cutting-edge technology and performs surgeries daily in a recently expanded facility with 17 state-of-the-art operating rooms. Requirements

• High School diploma or GED; or equivalent experience.
• 6 months previous related experience preferred.
• American Heart Association BLS/CPR Certification Required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to lift, bend, stand, walk for extended periods of time.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Must be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Supports patient care in the Pre-anesthesia and OR areas by gathering supplies and equipment, assisting with room turnover, setting up specialty beds as needed, and transporting patients, instrumentation and supplies.
• Maintains the safety and cleanliness of the environment in the OR suite in accordance with regulations set forth by department and hospital policy.
