About The Position

The Elliot 1 Day Surgery Center Operating Room is one of the largest and most active OR departments in the state, located at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, New Hampshire. It is designed to provide minimally invasive surgical procedures with the highest level of quality care and patient satisfaction. The center is fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology offering a wide range of services including laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy, urology, and gynecology. Our teams of surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other medical personnel are committed to providing the highest quality patient care in a safe and comfortable environment. The center also offers pre-surgical testing, post-operative care, and education to ensure a smooth transition back to normal activities.

Requirements

  • Medical Technician Certification from the State of New Hampshire required, unless other current NH state license is held.
  • BLS required.
  • Knowledge of practices and techniques utilized in a support role in an operating room.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience in a hospital operating room or Ambulatory Surgery Center preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the availability and preparedness of supplies and equipment needed to support efficient and effective perioperative processes.
  • Gather supplies and instruments needed for patient procedures.
  • Maintain anesthesia machine and cart by checking for all necessary equipment and supplies prior to start of case, cleaning after each case and restocking according to established par levels.
  • Uphold an environment which consistently meets all safety, infection control and quality standards.
  • Support Anesthesia and Operating Room personnel to ensure the cleanliness of equipment and support patient safety.
  • Function as an integral member of the Operating Room team and contribute to maintaining a professional, respectful, and effective patient care and work environment.
  • Promote continuity in surgery turnover time.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient operating room suite.
  • Transport specimens, equipment, and supplies between a variety of departments and patient care areas as needed.
  • Ensure a professional, respectful, and effective patient care and working environment through consistent use of appropriate interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
