About The Position

Ozarks Community Hospital (OCH) is seeking a Perioperative Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Operating Room department. The Perioperative RN is responsible for the care, comfort, and safety of patients during the perioperative phase of their hospital stay, from preadmission to discharge. This role involves managing the perioperative process daily and ensuring continuity of care through the nursing process. Effective communication with patients, staff, physicians, anesthetists, and other departments is essential. Flexibility with scheduling is required, as employees may occasionally be asked to work different shifts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Current Registered Nurse licensure for the state of Arkansas
• Successful completion of the cardiac dysrhythmia exam
• Current BLS certification upon hire or obtained during orientation
• Current ACLS certification upon hire or obtained during orientation
• Current PALS certification upon hire or obtained during orientation

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the care, comfort, and safety of patients during the perioperative phase of the hospital stay.
• Manage the successful perioperative process each day in the assigned area and other areas in the department when needed.
• Perform nursing interventions utilizing the nursing process, ensuring continuity of care during the perioperative experience.
• Ensure effective communication between self, patient, staff, physician/anesthetist, and other hospital departments.
