About The Position

Azul, a nationally awarded aesthetics company with over 20 years of experience in the Florida market, is seeking a highly motivated Registered Nurse (RN) for its Ft. Myers clinic. This full-time role is ideal for someone passionate about the beauty and wellness industry who can serve as a brand ambassador. The RN will be responsible for various essential functions within the perioperative and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) settings, ensuring patient safety, providing direct care, and maintaining accurate documentation. The position involves preparing patients for surgery, administering medications, monitoring patients during recovery, and providing discharge instructions. The role also includes participating in quality improvement initiatives and adhering to cost containment practices.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program
  • Current R.N. License
  • Current BLS Certification
  • ACLS Certification
  • Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye coordination.
  • Standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Corrected or normal vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases, blood or body fluids.

Responsibilities

  • Review patient charts for health history and ensure necessary pre-operative evaluations and surgical permissions are completed.
  • Prepare the surgery center for patient arrival by ensuring proper supplies and equipment are available and functioning.
  • Perform patient assessments, start IVs, and administer medications as ordered.
  • Assist the CRNA before, during, and after anesthesia induction, including medication administration.
  • Monitor sterile and aseptic techniques and Universal Precautions in all perioperative areas.
  • Communicate patient care information effectively to all team members.
  • Accurately and promptly carry out physician's orders and document all activities.
  • Report unusual occurrences, room activity, personnel performance, physician interactions, patient condition, and equipment problems to the surgery center manager.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to perioperative crises, seeking assistance as needed.
  • Observe all safety precautions and comply with facility health and safety rules.
  • Receive patients into the recovery room, assess and evaluate their condition.
  • Continuously monitor patients during their recovery phase, documenting their status and administering care.
  • Be prepared for emergencies by knowing correct procedures and the location of the emergency crash cart.
  • Provide discharge instructions to patients and caregivers, confirming understanding.
  • Conduct post-surgery follow-up assessments via phone calls.
  • Complete all necessary documentation on the Recovery Room nurses’ record.
  • Participate in quality improvement monitoring and track daily logs.
  • Comply with cost containment practices.
  • Participate in and attend in-service programs and staff meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
