About The Position

The Perioperative Nurse effectively delivers perioperative care to the surgical patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. Demonstrates commitment to Clarion Hospital mission statement, vision statement and values.

Requirements

Graduate of a State Board approved program of professional nursing.
Holds a current Pennsylvania State License as a registered nurse.
Certified in BLS, ACLS and PALS in the future.

Nice To Haves

Requires a mechanical ability to deal with a large number of machines and special equipment in the department, including (but not limited to): Electrocautery units, Autoclaves, Tourniquets, Positioning equipment, Instruction of each service Perioperative suite in total, Energy Devices, Video Towers

Where appropriate, must be able to assess treatment and care for specific patient populations (i.e.: neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, geriatrics).
Should possess the ability to understand and react effectively to their unique needs.
Maintains adherence to patient rights.
Participates in nursing and hospital committees as appropriate.
Attends at least 70% of department staff meetings.
Agrees to comply with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, rules, regulations, and standards of conduct relating to the position and has a duty to report any suspected violations of the law or the standards of conduct to his or her immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer or the Chief Executive Officer.
