About The Position

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is seeking a Perioperative Care Partner to join their team. This role involves assisting nursing staff in patient care within the operating rooms, including positioning and transferring anesthetized patients, and cleaning operating rooms after surgical cases. The Perioperative Care Partner provides general non-technical assistance to the nursing staff and contributes to a positive patient surgical experience by partnering with the surgical team to provide excellent customer service. Requirements

High School Diploma/GED
Demonstrates mature and conscientious behavior.
Demonstrates sound judgment and technical skills.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 90 Days

Responsibilities

Assists nursing staff in the rooms with patient care by positioning, transferring of anesthetized patients, and cleaning operating rooms at the conclusion of surgical cases.
Provides general non–technical assistance to the nursing staff.
Participates in activities designed to increase the productivity and efficiency of the operating room.
Promotes a positive patient surgical experience by partnering with the surgical team to provide excellence in customer service within the surgical environment with age-appropriate responsibilities.
Assists with the transportation of patients to and from the operating room.
Ensures availability of instruments and supplies needed and assists with opening of supplies and instruments.
Provides emotional support during pre-operative contact with the patient, as observed by the unit and department nurses.
Performs effective cleaning and disinfection of the operating rooms after surgical cases.
Performs appropriate care and handling of patient specimens.
