About The Position

The Surgical Technician assists with patient care in a Surgery environment. Responsibilities include knowledge of basic surgical practices and techniques including asepsis, performing procedures in a sterile manner, and demonstrating proficiency in scrubbing. The technician passes instruments, sponges, and sutures to the surgeon and assistants as needed, and places all tubing and cords securely and conveniently for the surgeon. They are responsible for assembling all equipment used during procedures and are knowledgeable of the cleaning and sterilizing procedures for all surgical instruments. The role also involves performing cleaning and sterilizing procedures on all instruments and equipment, and demonstrating the ability to communicate and work effectively with other members of the surgical team.

Requirements

• Post High School Vocational /Specialized training
• 1 year experience as a Scrub Tech preferred
• CST Preferred

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to communicate and work effectively with other members of the surgical team.
