Perinatal Educator - Systemwide - Casual/Per-Diem

This is a casual/per-diem position with a varied schedule that may include days, evenings, nights, and weekends. The position will primarily teach at Scripps Mercy San Diego (Hillcrest) while supporting the systemwide programs as needed. We invite you to join our Perinatal Education team as a Perinatal Educator. The Perinatal Educator for Scripps Center for Community Health and Advocacy is a Certified Childbirth Educator and/or a Certified Lactation Educator.
Requirements
- Accomplished adult and/or child teaching skills, excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to function with minimal supervision, bilingual an advantage, strong personal and professional commitment to adult and/or child education programming.
- Previous experience with adult and/or child learning systems/theory.
- Certified Childbirth Educator and/or Certified Lactation Educator with one year teaching experience in Perinatal Education.
- Childbirth Education and/or Lactation Educator certification.
Nice To Haves
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing, education or another field.
Responsibilities
- Teaching standardized perinatal education programs throughout the Scripps Healthcare System.
- The Educator is an active team member who works closely with the Lead Perinatal Educator and Supervisor in the development of and implementation of perinatal education programs.
- The Educator performs other duties as assigned.
