The Perianesthesia RN Residency combines clinical and didactic training to prepare new residents to care for perianesthesia patients. Training includes computer-based learning, skills labs and simulations, EKG training, critical care and trauma case studies, and clinical and critical-thinking experiences. Residents develop clinical skills and nursing judgment and learn to organize care for the perianesthesia patient population. They work with up-to-date equipment and use evidence-based practice. Applicants must complete an online application and submit a professional portfolio and references. The portfolio includes a cover letter, resume, unofficial transcript, and first-person clinical narrative describing a meaningful patient-care experience and reflecting on the applicant’s practice. Applicants are asked to provide a reference’s name and contact information and to follow the specified file-naming format.
