About The Position

Maintains a safe and orderly par level. Checks equipment with preventive maintenance, servicing as required for safe working conditions. Insures equipment and supplies are available for emergency situations. Under direct supervision of the surgeon and anesthesiologist, the bypass circuit is constructed in accordance to the OR standards of sterile technique. The patient is then placed on bypass. Clinical perfusion is met according to calculated flows determined by the patient's weight, height, age and cardiac index. Interprets various parameters, blood gas values, electrolyte balance, blood pressure, urinary output, gas and blood flow and fluid shifts. Information passed on to the surgeon and/or anesthesiologist. Maintains accurate records that are timely and complete. Maintains the bypass circuit to re-initiate safe bypass until authorized by the surgeon.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of perfusion
  • High School Diploma
  • Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP)

Responsibilities

  • Passes information on to the surgeon and/or anesthesiologist.
