About The Position

Under the direction of the Lead Perfusionist, Anesthesiologist, and/or Surgeon, the Staff Perfusionist executes extracorporeal support in the care of patients undergoing open heart surgery. This entails the safe and effective manipulation of sophisticated perfusion equipment used in maintaining adequate physiological parameters. The Perfusionist is required to assimilate all available information, make prompt clinical assessments and take the appropriate action. Such circumstances demand that the Perfusionist know the limitations and hazards of all techniques, components, and principles of extracorporeal support of open heart surgery. Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Science, Perfusion Technology.
National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
National Certified Clinical Perfusionist - American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion within 1 year of hire.

Nice To Haves

Graduate of an accredited school of perfusion technology.
2 years current open-heart clinical experience.
