About The Position

The Perfusionist Technician performs designated direct and indirect age-specific and development-appropriate patient care under the direct supervision of the perfusionist. Follows policies, protocols, techniques and guidelines in all aspects of job duties. Meets qualifications and competencies as identified in the department-specific plan for providing care. Utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize customer service in a manner that supports excellence in safe patient care and professionalism. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperating among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Demonstrates flexibility and willingly to assist perfusionist from multiple areas of their support. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Demonstrates competencies in the scope of unlicensed healthcare team member.
• Able to read and write legibly in English (and Spanish preferred).
• Use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, electronic medical record, electronic event reporting program.
• Relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
• Be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies.
• Work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure.
• Lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate.

• Discern temperature variances through touch.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association required.
