About The Position
The Perfusion Assistant supports certified Perfusionists in adult surgical settings by preparing and maintaining equipment, performing pre-procedure setup, assisting with anticoagulation monitoring and autotransfusion, and ensuring efficient operation and support within the Perfusion department.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of direct patient care experience in a healthcare facility; or supply experience in a healthcare setting; or work experience with medical equipment/supplies; or college coursework in allied health, healthcare, or basic sciences; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required at time of hire or must be obtained by end of orientation, and must be maintained.
