Performance Model Engineer

About The Position

SiFive, a leader in RISC-V CPU IPs, is looking for performance modelers to help research and develop next generation high performance processors. The performance modelers will involve in all steps of architecting, designing and correlating designs. Successful candidates will be responsible for achieving the high-performance goal set for the cutting-edge AI and out-of-order CPUs. They will work closely with the architects and designers to prepare performance models to explore new architecture and designs. They will analyze the performance bottlenecks of the CPU microarchitecture itself and explore the microarchitecture features via the performance models. Therefore, they will also have to join the performance model development and implement ideas. They will also analyze the performance differences between the hardware design and the performance model.

Requirements

  • Experienced with computer architecture
  • Experienced with processor micro-architecture
  • Experienced with micro-architecture performance analysis
  • Experienced with performance model development
  • Experienced with benchmarking
  • Experienced with microbenchmark design
  • Good presentation skills
  • Assembly programming
  • C/C++ programming
  • Waveform analysis
  • Familiar with git or other source code control systems.
  • Familiar with Linux-based development environments including python/shell programming.

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced with RISC-V V-extension is a plus
