About The Position

Crowe's Performance Improvement practice helps clients significantly improve their profitability by solving supply chain, procurement/sourcing, supplier management/development, and operational challenges. They develop executable improvement plans, align stakeholders, quantify financial value, and partner with clients to drive value capture. This role involves leading aspects of strategic sourcing engagements, including shaping global supply strategies, building category strategies, leading competitive sourcing initiatives, and supporting procurement transformations, logistics, and operational excellence engagements. The delivery model requires Senior Consultants to assume ownership for solving tough sourcing, logistics, or operational challenges, working mostly independently on one client challenge at a time. The position requires travel 95% of the time, Sunday through Thursday, more than 45 weeks a year.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a relevant field required, or more than ten (10) years of professional field experience.
More than three (3) years of strategic sourcing experience – creating and executing category strategies independently, in industry or as a consultant.
Personable and able to pass the airplane test – ability to lead and influence stakeholders in client engagements.
Self-starter with the demonstrated ability to drive results independently.
Ability and interest in learning new skills quickly and often.
Ability to conduct analytics that generate insights versus pivot charts (including proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and the ability to ramp up on Power BI quickly).
Ability to connect issues and opportunities back to clients’ financials.
Ability to say more with fewer words in your professional writing.
Ability to interact and present to all levels of the organization, including executive leaders weekly.

Responsibilities

Lead aspects of strategic sourcing engagements, including shaping global supply strategies, building category strategies, leading competitive sourcing initiatives, and supporting procurement transformations, logistics, and operational excellence engagements.
Assume ownership for solving tough sourcing, logistics, or operational challenges, working mostly independently on one client challenge at a time.
Support supply chain assessments, including conducting interviews, completing job observations, developing spend cubes and performance analytics (leveraging Power BI), and leading organizational sourcing and procurement maturity assessments.
Build detailed category sourcing strategies with clients to improve commercial terms and supplier alignment.
Facilitate ideation workshops independently to gain stakeholder alignment and refine strategies.
Build assessment reports and present insights and strategies to executive leaders.
Lead execution of category strategies through final negotiations and award recommendations.
Lead implementation of resulting supplier agreements.
Support client optimization of sourcing and procurement organizational structures, policies, processes, and management practices.
Collaborate with extended teams and clients to assess, design, and implement broader operational and supply chain transformation projects.
Lead execution of complex consulting value workstreams, providing operational, financial, and process analysis, strategy development, process reengineering, and modeling.
