The Vertex Performance Excellence and Business Transformation (PEBT) Co-op is a six-month experiential training program for students pursuing an advanced degree in Business Analytics, Health Informatics, Data Science, Operations Research, or a related field. The co-op supports operational excellence across Global Clinical Operations (GCO) by applying digital transformation, AI, automation, and data-driven decision-making to improve clinical development operations. Working with the Digitization Strategy Center of Excellence and Performance Excellence teams, the co-op will evaluate, prototype, and scale AI and automation opportunities. The work includes mapping business processes, analyzing operational challenges, developing proofs of concept with low-code/no-code platforms and analytics tools, and using data to inform decisions. The role also supports the platform used to track performance metrics, building experience in platform use, data integration, technical documentation, process design, and continuous improvement. This is a full-time, paid, temporary co-op role scheduled for January through July 2027, with 40 hours of work per week. The position is hybrid in Boston, with three days per week onsite and ad hoc flexibility. The selected candidate will be employed by a third-party agency partner that provides services to Vertex; the agency will present compensation, benefits, and other employment terms upon offer. The posting lists compensation of $30.00–$35.00 per hour. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and Vertex does not provide sponsorship for internships, co-ops, or entry-level roles in this part of the organization.
