Performance Coach (Roofing/Exterior Trades)

Storm Guard - CorporateFort Worth, TX
Hybrid

About The Position

Storm Guard has been a trusted name in roofing and exterior restoration for over two decades, committed to doing the job right every time. They are locally owned and nationally backed, guided by their clients’ peace of mind and the protection of what they’ve built. Their approach, the Storm Guard Way, is disciplined and built on knowledge, integrity, and lasting trust. The company values doing the right thing, acting with enthusiasm, innovating and growing, showing respect for others, and creating exceptional experiences. As a Performance Coach, the role involves providing expert guidance to Storm Guard franchisees. The coach is expected to have real-world experience in running a roofing or exterior trades operation, understanding aspects like margin, overhead, crew management, and financial intricacies. The primary goal is to help franchise owners build thriving, profitable businesses. This is not a typical consulting role, but rather a coaching position for entrepreneurs who need someone with practical, in-game experience.

Requirements

  • Deep industry knowledge in roofing and/or exterior trades (siding, gutters, windows, exterior painting). This is not optional; it’s the foundation of this role.
  • Strong financial acumen. You can read a P&L, understand the levers of profitability, and help a business owner make smarter decisions with their money.
  • A coaching mindset. You’re patient, direct, and genuinely invested in the success of the people you work with.
  • Excellent communication skills. You can sit across from a franchise owner who’s struggling and deliver honest feedback in a way that builds trust, not resentment.
  • Ability to manage a portfolio. Multiple franchisees, multiple markets, multiple priorities. You stay organized and keep all of them moving.
  • A track record of results. Whether in your own business or someone else’s, you’ve driven measurable growth and you can speak to how.

Nice To Haves

  • Business ownership experience is a strong plus.
  • DFW-based candidate a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with franchisees to assess the health of their business operationally, financially, and culturally.
  • Translate your industry knowledge into actionable guidance on job costing, crew efficiency, production timelines, and customer experience.
  • Help owners understand their P&Ls, identify where profit is leaking, and build a clear path to stronger margins.
  • Lead regular one-on-ones, business reviews, and performance planning sessions with franchise owners in your portfolio.
  • Analyze franchisee performance data and develop improvement plans that are grounded in how this industry actually works.
  • Identify opportunities to grow revenue and profitability — not just top-line sales, but real, sustainable profit.
  • Hold franchisees accountable to growth goals with the kind of directness that only comes from someone who’s been there.
  • Conduct annual business reviews and strategic planning sessions with each franchisee.
  • Guide owners through the challenges of scaling, adding crews, managing overhead, and building systems that don’t depend on the owner doing everything.
  • Help new franchisees get up to speed faster by sharing what works and what doesn’t in roofing and exterior operations.
  • Ensure franchisees are operating in alignment with Storm Guard standards, brand guidelines, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the broader operations team on training programs, system-wide initiatives, and conferences.
  • Be a trusted partner to franchise owners — someone they look forward to hearing from, not just someone they report to.
